Rich McLeish: Class of 1979

Rich became the fourth player in FA history to score 1000 points, finishing his career with 1144, and who knows how many more points he would have scored with today’s three-point line? During his senior year, he entered a regular season game vs Mattanawcook needing 20 points to reach 1000. He got those 20 points and 30 more to break the school record for points in a game. Rich was voted team MVP his junior and senior year, and he was a Second-Team Bangor Daily News All-Maine selection and Eastern Maine Class B All-Tournament selection while leading the Ponies to the Eastern Maine championship game as a senior. Rich also ran cross country for three years, was a standout on the baseball diamond, and played football as a senior, garnering All-LTC accolades at defensive end. He went on to play basketball at Husson College.
