Kiwanis kicks off annual ticket sales

January 23, 2013

Dover Foxcroft’s Kiwanis sells raffle tickets throughout the year to raise money for various projects. Currently, the club is working on a Fuel Raffle.  This annual event runs from January 1 until the second week in February. Winners are announced at the winter social. Three happy winners will receive 100 gallons of home heating oil or propane.  The oil and/or propane are donated by A.E. Robinson, McKusick Oil, and Webber Oil. Be sure to buy your tickets for a chance to win!

The next chance to win will be at the the annual Kiwanis Piscataquis River Race. Prizes for this event include $300, $200, and $100 gasoline cards. Kiwanis pays $600 for these cards to A.E. Robinson, McKusick Oil, and Webber. Following closely is the 50/50 raffle each year at the Kiwanis Auction and another for a Division 2 Lt. Governor choice of project.

All money collected from these raffles goes into the Kawanis Charity Found, which is used to financially support more than 20 of their charity projects. These projects include Kiwanis Park, FA Scholarships, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Christmas Programs, and YMCA Swim Programs. All of the money earned from fundraising goes back into the community.
