Judy was a three-sport athlete playing field hockey, basketball, and softball. In field hockey, Coach Gene Philpot remembers her as being very tough both physically and mentally. She also commented on her ability to motivate her peers. Following her junior season, she was named to the All-State team. Her senior year, Judy was team captain and led her team to a 10-2-3 record, a Penquis League championship, and an appearance in the Eastern Maine quarterfinals. In basketball, Judy was a tenacious defender and scorer for coach John Spruce’s Ponies. In softball, she was known for her defensive prowess behind the plate and her ability to hit with power. As a senior, she led her team to a birth in the Eastern Maine semifinals. Judy is best remembered by her peers as a shining example of what it means to be a Pony.
