Information on Foxcroft Academy’s 195th Commencement Exercises

Foxcroft Academy will hold their 2018 commencement exercises on Sunday, June 10th at 1:30pm.  A baccalaureate ceremony will be held before graduation at 12:00pm. Both ceremonies are planned to be outside on the East Lawn of Foxcroft Academy, with the gymnasium ready in case of inclement weather.

Foxcroft Academy is also pleased to announce the speakers for graduation.  The Valedictorian for the Class of 2018 is Jenna Clukey. Jenna is the daughter of Jack and Debbie Clukey of Dover-Foxcroft.  Jenna has been involved at FA as President of Key Club, Student Council, and senior class president.  She has also been a member of National Honor Society, Latin Club, Civil Rights Team, and Prom Committee.  She was a Rose Award recipient in May. Jenna was captain of the girls soccer team, the swim team, and softball team.  Earlier this year, she received the MPA Principal’s Award. Jenna will further her education at Bowdoin College in the fall and will major in Government and Legal Studies.  

The Salutatorian for the Class of 2018 is Avery Nelson.   Avery is the daughter of Jeff and Leslie Nelson of Dover-Foxcroft.  Avery has been involved at FA as Vice President of Key Club, and a member of National Honor Society and Student Council.  She was also an FA Rose Award recipient in May. Avery has been been a three season athlete all four years at FA, playing soccer, basketball, track and field, and this year, trying her hand at tennis.  Avery plans on attending Maine Maritime Academy in the fall majoring in International Business and Logistics. She will be playing on the Mariners girls soccer team.

Other graduation speakers include Peter Hartel, who will speak on behalf of the faculty and staff of Foxcroft Academy.  Mr. Hartel is retiring after the school year comes to an end. The guest speaker is Senator Angus King, current Senator for the State of Maine, and former Governor of the state.

This year’s Class Marshals are Rylie Kleikamp and Lauren Cooper from the Class of 2019.
