In September, the Foxcroft Academy Key Club decided to fund a well for clean drinking water through The Thirst Project. The goal was lofty, $12,000. In just six months, the club was able to raise the necessary funds, and now for a second time in three years, the FA Key Club will have their name on a well in Africa.
In fact, things went so well, that through fundraising for the well and other various projects, the Key Club finished with a surplus of money. Earlier this year, the club helped with the Penquis Valley Key Club (as they look to fund a Thirst Project well), The Eliminate Project, Trick or Treat for UNICEF, iPads for Tanzania, the D-F Kiwanis Christmas Project, the Lewis Family, the Marshall Family, Camp Sunshine, and Children’s Miracle Network. Even with that, they still had more money to donate. They decided to give back to several local non-profit agencies.
On Friday, April 26th, there was a special assembly to honor the individuals and groups receiving checks and/or recognition from the FA Key Club. They included:
Center Theatre, D-F Area Food Cupboard, the Bickford Family, JD Foundation, Charleston Public Library, Nolan’s H.E.R.O. Foundation, Pine Tree Hospice, Partners for Peace, Piscataquis Regional YMCA, D-F Kiwanis Club Backpack Program, SeDoMoCha Builders Club, and Foxcroft Academy.
With all of that, the FA Key Club has helped raise over $19,500 this school year alone. Our service projects don’t stop. If there is a need, the FA Key Club plans to be there. Thank you for your support.
