Foxcroft Academy Fall Sports Postseason Update

October 31, 2019

Dover-Foxcroft – It’s been a very successful fall sports season for our Foxcroft Academy sports teams.  All of our teams qualified for their sports’ playoffs and we have seen great work on the field.  Here is an update on what is happening this weekend.

On Friday, the Foxcroft Academy Football team (3-5) starts the playoffs on the road as they travel to Houlton (4-4) to take on the Shiretowners.  FA knocked off Houlton 32-21 back in week 5, which was their last win. The winner of this one will move onto the Class D semifinals next Friday night at in Bucksport.  Kickoff is at 7:00pm tonight. If you can’t be here, the game will be live-streamed at

On Saturday, the Foxcroft Academy Field Hockey team plays for Class C gold as they take the Winthrop Ramblers in the Class C State Championship game at Messalonskee High School in Oakland.  It starts at 12pm (noon).  FA has had a phenomenal run in Class C, giving up just 3 goals all season and they are one win away from a state title! If you can’t make it, the game will be streamed at  Just so you know, there is a fee to watch the game.

That’s not all!  For the first time in a long time, the Foxcroft Academy Boys Soccer team will be playing in the Class B Semifinals.  The #10 Ponies knocked off #7 Waterville in the play-in round and then, took it to #2 Winslow in the quarterfinals. Now, it’s a trip to #3 MDI. One more win and it’s a trip to a neutral site regional final!  Whatever happens, it’s been a great run, but why not win one more? We are still waiting on the date and time for this game.  It will be updated as soon as we get it.

Also this fall, girls soccer played a home playoff game for the first time in Class B, the golf team played in the PVC meet, and both boys’ and girls’ cross country teams ran in their conference and regional meets!  Congratulations to all and best of luck to all our teams still playing! Ride on Ponies!
