Dover-Foxcroft – May Horton of Milo, a senior at Foxcroft Academy, has been selected to receive the 2021 MPA Principal’s Award. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic excellence, outstanding school citizenship, and leadership.
“May fits all the criteria for this MPA Principal’s Award,” said Arnold Shorey, Foxcroft Academy Head of School. “She is a leader inside and outside the classroom and on every team she is involved with. May is also a trusted voice in all of the clubs and organizations she is a part of. Her integrity, work ethic, and commitment to FA show through in everything she does. May is a great role model for our Foxcroft Academy student population to look up to.”
Horton will be honored at a virtual awards ceremony and scholarship drawing on Friday, May 14th. During this time, the MPA will select ten of these students to win $1,000 scholarships in the names of former Maine principals and MPA Executive Directors: Horace O. McGowan, Richard W. Tyler, and Richard A. Durost.
The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association representing Maine’s school administrators. #rideonponies
