Dover-Foxcroft – Ethan Curtis of Pittsfield, a senior at Foxcroft Academy, has been selected to receive the 2020 MPA Principal’s Award. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.
“Ethan fits all the criteria for this MPA Principal’s Award with no exceptions,” said Arnold Shorey, FA Head of School. “He is a leader in the classroom, a leader on our athletic fields and courses, and a trusted voice amongst his peers. He leads by example and is a model of integrity, work ethic, and most importantly, he has a commitment to excellence. Ethan is a hard-working student and cares about his fellow classmates, Foxcroft Academy, and the greater community. He encapsulates all we want in an FA student.”
Curtis and Head of School Arnold Shorey will attend an Honors Luncheon with other award winners and their principals at Jeff’s Catering in Brewer on Saturday, April 4th at 12:30 pm.
The Honors Luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an MPA pin, an individual plaque and the awarding of seven $1,000 scholarships in the names of former Maine principals and MPA Executive Directors: Horace O. McGowan, Richard W. Tyler, and Richard A. Durost. Three additional $1,000 scholarships will be presented through the partnership with Berlin City Auto Group’s Drive for Education.
The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine’s school administrators.
