Dear prospective students and families,
Established as a private secondary school on January 30, 1823, and now one of nine remaining Town Academies in the state of Maine, Foxcroft Academy has opened its doors to the world and become a true global community. Within the past six years, we have welcomed students from Brazil, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Ghana, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, and Vietnam. We are proud to to now have approximately 100 international students call Foxcroft Academy home each year.
Our ever-expanding curriculum offers something for everyone and helps students discover their true passion. Our course guide now includes 21 accredited Advanced Placement courses (including online partnerships), 19 math and science offerings, 27 electives in the Humanities, 25 Visual and Performing Arts course, 15 in-house offerings in Technical Education, four World Language tracks, and a robust ESL program. We also understand that technology drives today’s educational landscape and became the first high school in Maine to implement a 1-to-1 iPad Initiative in 2011.
Our 125-acres campus features two large, state-of-the art dormitories and is located in a safe, wholesome setting. Surrounded by pristine lakes, mountains, rivers, and woods, we offer a safe and wholesome learning environment with an abundance of amazing outdoor activities readily available year-round.
Foxcroft Academy has some of the finest playing fields in the state and a proud athletic tradition. Our 23 varsity teams are currently enjoying an unprecedented run of success, capturing 11 state championships in the past 12 years.
Foxcroft Academy is accredited by the New England Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges and is approved by the Department of Education and Cultural Services of the State of Maine. Foxcroft Academy holds membership in the College Board, The Independent Schools Association of Northern New England, and the Maine Association of Independent Schools.
