The Visual Art Department offers classes at the entry level and advanced levels.  Art students explore the Elements and Principles of Design.  We also explore different techniques and tools to create art and incorporate history and different cultures into our classes.  Several times during each semester, we take the classroom outside.  We also invite artists to join us in the classroom to demonstrate their talent to the classes.  For example, we have studied Chinese calligraphy, local potter wheel throwing demonstrations, and have created” Andy Goldsworthy” inspired sculptures made from nature. 

The Visual Art Department holds several student art shows throughout the year at Foxcroft Academy, the Center Theatre, and the Thompson Free Library.  Students also donate art and pottery to our annual art sale in June to help raise money for the art department.
